Trevor Costello -- Head Coach

Costello begins his 9th year as Algonquin’s Head Coach (13th year on the coaching staff) compiling an overall record of 201-90 (175-55 vs. CCAA).

In his 8 years at the helm the Thunder have made 3 appearances at the National Championships, winning a silver medal in 2002, finishing 4th in 2003, and a bronze medal in 2009.  The Thunder won the school’s second OCAA Championship in 2003 (first since 1967) and have won 6 OCAA East Division Championships.

Costello has coached three All Canadians and numerous OCAA All-Stars since taking over the program and is most proud of the players who have graduated to the CIS and International basketball.  Prior to becoming the Head Coach, he was the Senior Boys Coach at JS Woodsworth Secondary School where he led the Warriors to a 4th place AA OFSAA finish in 1997.  Presently, he coaches the Junior and Intermediate boys and girls at Alta Vista P.S. where and directs the very popular Thunder Basketball Camp for Boys and Girls in the summer months.

Coach Costello thanks and gives all the credit to his long respected friend, mentor and former head Coach Hugh Lynn.

Trevor and his wife Terri-Lynn are proud parents of their daughter Tessah and son Treyden.

Jim Langis - Assistant Coach

 Jim Langis is in his 8th year as assistant coach with the Thunder and is proud and honoured to have been with the team since Coach Trevor Costello was hired as Head Coach.
 
Coach Langis assists with many aspects of the coaching responsibilities including game preparation and recruiting.
 
Coach Langis has also been coaching at the local high school level for over 15 years and is currently with the Gloucester H.S. Gators.  He has also coached at the Basketball Ontario Club Ball level and has been fortunate to be a coach in the Nike Centre for Performance Basketball Program with Basketball Ontario and Basketball Canada.

Achil Lual - Assistant Coach
