Garth Gittens

Garth Gittens - Head Coach

Garth has been the Head Coach of Algonquin's Women's Soccer Team since 1997. Garth was the Assistant Coach Algonquin College Men's Soccer Team in 1996 and prior to that was Head Coach Ottawa Internationals Women's Premier Soccer Team. He is a Certified NCCP Level 3 Coach Technical and Completed C License Course.

Garth playing career includes varsity soccer and lacrosse at New England College in New Hampshire, U.S.A., Varsity Soccer at Arundel, England and American College, Paris, France. Garth also played with the Ottawa Rockers Club Team who were Ottawa Cup Champions in 1986.

 

Rob GruberRob Gruber - Assistant Coach

 Rob has been a coach with the Algonquin College Women's Soccer team for two years. Rob played three years on the Algonquin College Men's Soccer Team and has been playing soccer for 18 years. Rob was an OCAA Athlete of the Week and was the leading goal scorer in the OCAA East Region in 1994. Highlights of Rob's soccer career include traveling to England, Holland and France to play and winning a bronze medal with Algonquin as a player and a silver medal as a coach. Another highlight was coaching the Glebe Collegiate girls soccer team to OFSSA in 1992.

Mark FowlerMark Fowler - Assistant Coach

Mark has been an assistant with the Algonquin College Women's team since 2004. He has over 30 years of playing experience and was a former captain of the Algonquin men's varsity team.  Mark is a provincial B level coach who also holds a NCCP level 2 certification.  Mark's playing career highlights include representing Ontario 1979, Ontario Cup semi-finalist 1984, Ottawa Cup  Champion 1986 and most recently with Capital United Ontario Cup Masters Finalists in 2006 and 2007.  Mark was a member of the Cumberland United technical committee in 2007 and 2008 and has coached regional youth teams with the club since 2002.

Anjelica HodgsonAnjelica Hodgson - Assistant Coach

Anjelica  Hodgson joins the Algonquin team as an assistant coach in 2010.  She recently graduated this past May from the University of Maine where she earned her degree in biochemistry and played 4 seasons with the Black Bears women's soccer team.  During her senior season, Anjelica earned America East All-Conference First Team honors, All-Tournament team honors, as well America East All-Academic Team honors.  Anjelica has also been named an America East All-Conference Second Team Selection as well as an ESPN The Magazine/CoSida Academic Team Selection.
