Algonquin’s Impact Zone is a state of the art, martial art training facility dedicated to providing effective instruction in Thai boxing, boxing, kickboxing and yoga. The impact Zone promotes a safe, healthy environment in which students learn and develop new skills to reach their fitness goals.

Hatha Yoga: This class introduces students to a 60-minute sequence of shortly held poses designed to relax and tone the muscles as well as revitalize heart and mind. Some time will be spent learning about physical alignment, proper use of breath, focus of attention and the benefits of individual poses. The class continues to progress throughout the quarter, introducing new yoga postures each week. Experienced practitioners are offered options for deepening their practice. Beginners welcome!

Boxing: Boxing training will improve your speed, resistance and strength. The innovative variations of the sparring jabs, power punches and fitness blend all the exercises for a whole body workout. You can potentially burn 350 to 500 calories in just one hour! Push yourself to the limit today!

Muay Thai: Train the body, mind, and heart. Physical conditioning is useless without developing concentration and dedication. Show patience and persistence with yourself and others. Develop speed as well as Muay Thai techniques. Referred to as “The Art of the Eight Limbs”, as the hands, shins, elbows and knees are all used extensively in this art.

Kickboxing: An improved range of motion acquired as the student becomes more flexible, in addition to a stronger body and mind. It is important that students learn proper kickboxing techniques in a fun, safe environment. Learning proper form while training will also help the individual target and work the proper muscle groups, which will enhance their overall development, not only physically but also mentally. While focus is improved and stress reduced from their daily lives, students become more alert at home and at work.

Open: Open Time allows Impact Zone members to use the facility during supervised times. Improve your conditioning, techniques and practice what you have learned with the equipment that is provided
