About Geraldo Azevedo
On January 11, 1945, in the heart of the Pernambuco hinterland, Geraldo Azevedo was born. He grew up in a humble but culturally wealthy family, which guaranteed a childhood full of good references. He won his first guitar – a gift from his father, José Amorim, handcrafted by himself – at the age of five. The beginning of life, coined in an environment friendly to music and culture, ended up determining the destiny of what would become one of the great ambassadors of Brazilian Popular Music.
