Message from your SA President
We are committed to student success in all forms, and we want you to know that we will support your return to campus.
Published: June 11, 2020Yesterday afternoon, Colleges and Universities Minister Ross Romano announced that on July 2, some students would be able to return to classes to finish their term. Those students, who the Minister described as “academically stranded,” should have graduated by now but haven’t been able to due to missed lab hours or hands-on exams. In a few weeks, they will be returning to our campuses safely and responsibly.
We are committed to student success in all forms, and we want you to know that we will support your return to campus.
The SA Board of Directors and the leadership team will follow up with the college administration soon to learn more of their plans and, most importantly, what support will be available to students who have had plans interrupted to finish their programs.
For students that should have graduated by now but are waiting for hands-on exams or required in-class hours, I expect you’ll hear from your program coordinator very soon. However, if you have any questions, concerns, or need accommodation, I encourage you to reach out to your program coordinators as quickly as possible.
I am very much looking forward to our campuses filled with our community soon.
Emily Ferguson,
President, Algonquin Students’ Association
