Who Can Opt In

Students who are not eligible for automatic enrollment may be able to opt in to the Student Health Plan, depending on their course load and class start date.

How Opt-In Works

The Student Health Plan coverage period runs from September 1 to August 31 every year.

Opt in is available to eligible students during the first month of each semester.

Once you are enrolled in the Student Health Plan, you will be covered until the following August 31 even if you graduate or if you do not have classes.

After August 31 each year:

1. If you do not have classes in the upcoming Fall (September) semester, you will lose your coverage until you are eligible again.
2. If you do have classes in the upcoming Fall semester and meet eligibility requirements, you will need to opt in to the new academic year’s Student Health Plan.

Opt In Deadline

You may only opt in during the designated opt in periods.

If you miss the deadline, your next opportunity to opt in will be the following semester, if you meet the eligibility requirements.

No exceptions will be made for missed deadlines.

How to Opt-In to the Health Plan

Eligible students may opt in to the Student Health Plan by following these three steps during the Opt In Period within their first semester of class.
