February is Black History Month. It’s a time for us to celebrate Blackness and all the diversity that comes with being Black in the world. It’s a time to recognize the stories and achievements of Black Canadians and Black communities around the world. It’s a time to learn.

Here at the SA, we have a month full of events to honour Black history, from Black artistry to Black entrepreneurship to BIPOC visibility in career building.

Starting Thursday, February 9, in partnership with the National Arts Centre (NAC), we have student-priced tickets for the play Is God Is – the epic journey of two sisters, equal parts ancient and modern, Spaghetti Western and Afropunk.

We’ll also be hosting a BIPOC career and networking panel. These are great chances for you to learn, get involved, and make connections.

Please join us for Black History Month this year! I invite you to celebrate Blackness with us – to celebrate all of the incredible diversity and stories and communities that come with being Black around the world.
